Digital falls reduction tool is a 2025 iAwards NSW finalist
MQ-Dash, a digital innovation designed to reduce falls in residential aged care facilities, has been named a New South Wales finalist in the Not-for-Profit & Community category of the Australian Information Industry Association’s 2025 iAwards, which celebrate excellence in technology innovation.
Developed in collaboration with Anglicare through a research project led by Professor Johanna Westbrook and funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council, MQ-Dash equips aged care teams with advanced capabilities, its features including:
- real-time falls risk prediction — a dynamic prediction engine that, using current data inputs such as medication changes and mobility indicators, updates residents’ falls risk;
- integrated resident dashboard — that consolidates health and care data from multiple systems into a single, actionable view for frontline staff; and
- a user-centric design — that, to ensure usability in real-world care environments, has been developed in close collaboration with aged care workers, residents and families.
“This recognition highlights the power of co-designed, data-driven tools to transform aged care,” Westbrook said. “We’re proud to be building technology that puts the safety and dignity of older Australians at the centre.”
The 2025 NSW iAwards Ceremony will take place on 31 July, and the 2025 National iAwards Gala Dinner on 28 August.
