$36m Resthaven Bellevue Heights redevelopment complete
The $36m redevelopment of Resthaven Bellevue Heights residential aged care facility is complete. It included the replacement of 32 rooms, an auditorium upgrade (where residents enjoy activities, entertainment and special events) and improved street appeal. The original 32 rooms, which had been constructed in the late 1970s, were demolished, enabling extra landscaping and car parking; all remaining rooms in the facility were also refurbished, to achieve a consistent high-quality standard.
Other features of the redevelopment include: consolidation of all accommodation under the one roof, making it easier for all residents to access new and improved communal areas and services; update to Gum Tree Lodge, the retirement village communal meeting and activity/social area, with added undercover area with café blinds and storage; covered drop-off area at entrance; new staff room, kitchen, laundry and associated service rooms; and transformation of the central entry and café area.
Having first turned turf in 2021, the redevelopment of Resthaven Bellevue Heights was officially opened — by Jessica Margrate, Manager Residential Services and Rev. Dr Graham Vawser, Board Member — on 20 May 2025.
