Residential aged care pricing and costing — have your say
A consultation has been opened by the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) — to help them advise the government on residential aged care pricing and costing.
Covered by the consultation are:
- IHACPA’s cost collections;
- the assessment of the Multi-Purpose Services (MPS) Program funding model;
- the assessment of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care (NATSIFAC) Program funding model;
- residential aged care supplements and required hotel services.
“We encourage everyone with an interest in aged care to share their experience and views on residential aged care as part of this consultation,” IHACPA Chair David Tune AO PSM said.
“Feedback from our stakeholders is crucial to help inform our pricing and costing advice to the Australian Government,” Tune added. “It means we can reflect the cost of delivering care to meet the needs of older Australians and the aged care sector.”
Feedback should be submitted by 5 pm AEST on Friday, 22 August 2025, and will help IHACPA provide fair and transparent residential aged care pricing advice to the government.
For more information and to get involved, visit IHAPCA’s Engagement Hub here, to learn about the consultation; read the ‘Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services 2026–27’ here; and email a submission here or fill out the online survey here.
